Got to meet my cousin’s daughters daughter. That was confusing just writing that. I guess she is my 3rd cousin or my cousin twice removed. Which means a 2nd cousin is once removed? I have never had a cousin have a kid who had a kid it’s something else and very new to me…
Anyways. Her daughter is 7 months old and her mom is 22. While this is a cute baby you have to feel bad she has no father in her life as her mom is not married. So yeah there’s that…
I sadly did not get to hold her. But I was able to calm her down. A few times this little girl would look at me while crying and stop for a few seconds before crying again but if she held my eye contact I could keep her looking.
I didn’t know I was a baby whispered till I was working for Children’s Place back in 2008. I had already done what I always do several times, calm babies down, because who wants to see or hear a crying baby it’s just sad! Then a lady said it to me after I had done so to her baby. She joked with me. “You are a baby whisper! My mom is one too. Can you come babysit for me?” she said with a smile. I knew she was kidding.
From then on out I realized I had a way with kids I could calm them down. I have no idea why I have this or if I will be able to have my own kids to do this to. But it’s a nice thing to know for the future. Just call me baby whisper. It’s not official but it’s still something else.
Now if I could only meet my other cousins two girls I would be happy. Unsure when that will happen but hey slowly getting around to this…
